Authorities report that Aeyion Barnett was killed around 2:20 a.m. in the 4300 block of Vermont Avenue while reportedly attempting to steal from parked vehicles.
According to law enforcement, surveillance footage captured a group of six individuals exiting a vehicle and breaking into a white Chevrolet Suburban. The video reportedly shows the group in the act of theft before they were startled, leading to a barrage of gunfire. Barnett, who was said to be part of the group, was struck during the incident.
