$25M Bond Set for Woman in McDonald’s Stabbing Case

EASTPOINTE, MI – A 26-year-old woman appeared in court Friday, facing charges of first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing her manager at a local McDonald’s. The incident occurred Thursday morning at the fast-food restaurant on Nine Mile Road, where both individuals were employed.

Authorities reported that the altercation began when the manager, 39-year-old Jennifer Harris, sent the suspect, identified as Muhammad, home for failing to perform her duties. Witnesses say Muhammad warned Harris she would return.

Two days prior to the incident, Muhammad posted a video on social media expressing frustration over being sent home from work. In the video, she mentioned her dissatisfaction and hinted at taking action, though she did not specify what that might entail.

The violent encounter unfolded in the drive-thru area of the restaurant. A customer with a concealed pistol license witnessed the attack and attempted to intervene by firing a warning shot into the air. As Muhammad fled the scene, the customer detained her at gunpoint until police arrived.

Muhammad later confessed to the police that she intended to harm Harris. She admitted to driving to a nearby park after being sent home, where she decided to return and confront Harris with a knife she had in her car.

Harris, a single mother of six and a longtime employee of McDonald’s, was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Her tragic death has left the community in shock and mourning.

In court, the prosecutor revealed that Muhammad had a previous incident involving a stabbing in Virginia. Her attorney argued that Muhammad had been in an abusive relationship, which contributed to her past behavior and criminal record.

The judge set Muhammad’s bond at $25 million, citing the severity of the charges and her criminal history. The case continues to develop as investigators gather more information.
