Corry, Pennsylvania – Shawn Cranston, aged 52, is now facing a slew of charges following the arrest made in connection to the tragic death that shook an Amish community in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania State Police revealed on Saturday morning that Cranston has been taken into custody over the murder of the 23-year-old pregnant Rebekah Byler. Among the charges he is facing are criminal homicide, criminal homicide of an unborn child, burglary, and criminal trespass.
According to the criminal complaint filed against Cranston, he allegedly killed Byler by either shooting her in the head or slashing her throat. Following the arrest, Cranston was arraigned on a Saturday morning and is currently being held at the Crawford County Jail without bond. The authorities responded to a home in Sparta Township on February 26, where they discovered Byler’s deceased body. The cause of her death is yet to be disclosed.
