Port St. Lucie, Florida – A Broward County man is facing charges for the deaths of a state trooper and a truck driver after he led authorities on a chase that resulted in a fatal crash on Interstate 95. Michael Addison, 30, has a history of arrests, including multiple warrants related to aggravated battery and weapons charges in Broward County, according to officials.
Court records reveal a pattern of criminal behavior, including probation revocation after an incident in which Addison allegedly choked his ex-girlfriend and failed to meet probation requirements. In another case, Addison was accused of creating a fake ID and attempting to open debit card accounts, as well as stealing iPhones from a Walmart with the help of a fellow employee.
Prosecutors dropped several charges against Addison, citing lack of evidence or victim cooperation. Addison has also faced probation for weapons charges, burglary, and grand theft, and has accumulated fines and unpaid rent.
As the investigation continues, the motive for Addison’s actions remains unclear. The arrest report has not been released, and Addison is currently being held in the St. Lucie County Jail without bond. The story is still evolving, with updates on the case forthcoming.
