Wall Township, New Jersey – A man from Wall Township is facing serious charges after a violent attack on his girlfriend in a parking lot. The Monmouth County Prosecutor announced on Tuesday that Alex J. Williams, 24, has been charged with Attempted Murder, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
The incident took place on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the Glen Oaks Apartment Complex parking lot. Responding officers found the female victim with severe injuries and immediately transported her to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
An investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Wall Township Police Department revealed that Williams had used a machete to repeatedly assault the victim, causing her significant harm. He was arrested without incident and is currently in custody pending a detention hearing scheduled for May 29, 2024.
