Batavia, Ill. — A man is being held without bond on charges of first-degree murder following the death of a woman in an apartment on Church Street early Tuesday morning. Authorities arrested Hector B. Luvianos after he allegedly confessed to killing his wife during a 911 call placed just after 4:30 a.m.
The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Noemi Parada Narvaez. According to Kane County Coroner Monica Silva, she was pronounced dead at the scene, although the specific cause of her death is still under investigation, with toxicology results pending.
Upon receiving Luvianos’ call, police discovered him outside the apartment when they arrived. Inside, they found Parada Narvaez suffering from severe injuries. Despite the immediate efforts of first responders, she could not be saved.
Luvianos, who is also referred to as Hector Luvianos-Barrera, appeared in court for the first time on Wednesday. During the hearing, Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser’s office requested he remain in custody until trial, a request that was granted.
Authorities have characterized the incident as domestic in nature and maintain that there is no ongoing threat to the community. This sentiment was echoed in comments from local law enforcement officials, including Batavia Police Chief Eric Blowers.
As the investigation continues, Silva expressed condolences on behalf of her team to the family and friends of Parada Narvaez, highlighting the difficulty of loss, especially during the holiday season.
