BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — In a rapid response to a violent spree, Birmingham authorities have apprehended 22-year-old Damien McDaniel, linking him to a series of deadly incidents including a mass shooting at Five Points South. During an emotionally charged statement, Candance Kemp, mother of one of the victims Anitra Holloman, expressed deep sorrow and determination. “They don’t know me, I don’t know them, but they deserve to see my tears… they deserve to see me fight for Anitra,” Kemp said after receiving the news of McDaniel’s arrest by detectives.
Kemp shared that the arrest brought her a night of much-needed rest, yet her grief persists vividly remembering her daughter’s demise “Last night was the first night I even got some sleep, but every time I try to think, my baby’s lifeless body on the ground,” she recounted tearfully.
