Blawnox, Pennsylvania – A tragic incident unfolded at the Tri-Arc Manufacturing warehouse in Blawnox, Pennsylvania, leaving one woman dead and a man in critical condition. The peaceful town was rocked by the unexpected violence that occurred early Tuesday morning at the facility on Fountain Street.
The police and paramedics swiftly responded to reports of an active shooter at the warehouse, located in a residential area of Blawnox. Dozens of officers from various departments rushed to the scene, where they encountered a harrowing situation. Workers exiting the building informed the authorities that the shooter was still active inside, prompting a swift and brave response from law enforcement.
A man, later identified as 42-year-old Sean Black of Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County, was apprehended without incident inside the warehouse. Two firearms were recovered as evidence. Tragically, two victims were found inside the building – 30-year-old Courtney Smith, who succumbed to her injuries at the scene, and 26-year-old Daniel Zoelle, who was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The authorities have determined that the incident was domestic in nature, as Smith was Black’s estranged girlfriend, and they shared three children. Complicating matters further, Smith had been dating Zoelle recently. All three individuals, including the suspect, were employees at Tri-Arc Manufacturing. The plant has been temporarily closed as the investigation into the shooting continues.

Sean Black now faces serious charges, including homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person, and awaits preliminary arraignment at the Allegheny County Jail.
