CLINTON, SOUTH CAROLINA – The Clinton Police Department confirmed that the dogs responsible for the attack on an 11-year-old boy have been euthanized. The department is actively searching for the owners of the dogs and has urged the community to come forward with any information regarding the owners.
The incident occurred on Livingston Street in Clinton when a neighbor witnessed four dogs attacking the young boy as he waited at his bus stop. The neighbor intervened and was able to physically remove the dogs from the boy. The 11-year-old sustained serious injuries and was treated by the police officers on the scene before being airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Commander Crystal Roberts of the Clinton Police Department stated that the boy underwent surgery for extensive injuries and will require physical and occupational therapy, particularly for his left leg. The family expressed gratitude towards the first responders and the neighbor who intervened to save the boy.
Police Chief Sonny Ledda visited the family and provided an update on the boy’s condition, emphasizing the long road to recovery ahead. The community has been urged to come forward with any information regarding the owners of the dogs involved in the attack. The department is dedicated to addressing and resolving animal control issues to ensure the safety of community members.
