Dallas, TX — A festive bachelorette weekend turned violent for a bride-to-be when she suffered a brutal attack outside a Dallas nightclub last month. Oklahoma resident Canada Rinaldi, 27, was assaulted by an assailant just steps away from her group, resulting in serious facial injuries.
Canada, along with six friends, was celebrating her upcoming wedding when the incident occurred in the early hours of March 22. She described the sudden onset of the attack, recalling little between walking to her car and regaining consciousness in an ambulance. The attack left her with a broken nose, several teeth damaged and a concussion, requiring medical treatment including stitches to her face.
The traumatic event was captured on a rideshare driver’s dash camera, which showed Rinaldi on the ground shortly after being hit, with an individual seen fleeing the scene. According to witnesses, the assailant seemed to strike without provocation or prior interaction.
Within days of the incident, Dallas police apprehended 27-year-old Trevon Woodards, identifying him as the suspect in the assault. Recently paroled, Woodards has a background of criminal activities including assaulting a police officer and burglary. The motivation behind the attack remains unclear, with authorities and those present confirming no prior confrontation.
The victim’s sister, Brienna Rinaldi, 23, recounted the shocking moments to reporters. She initially thought the attacker was playful, reaching for Canada’s cowgirl hat, but was horrified as the scene turned violent. Brienna screamed both at the assailant and for her sister in the chaos that ensued.
