CROWN HEIGHTS, NY – Police are actively searching for suspects after a shooting at a Brooklyn lounge resulted in 11 injuries, with three victims succumbing to their wounds. The victims’ ages range from 27 to 61, according to authorities.
The shooting unfolded at the Taste of the City Lounge, where a barrage of bullets created a scene of terror. Police Commissioner Jessica Tish stated that officers quickly arrived at the location, finding several people injured.
Investigators have collected 36 shell casings from the scene, indicating the use of multiple guns. Additionally, a gun was found nearby, but its link to the shooting is yet to be determined.
A witness who was inside the lounge during the shooting described the harrowing experience. She escaped without injury, calling the event “a living nightmare.”
The victims include eight men and three women. The identities of the deceased men, aged 27 and 35, have been partially disclosed, while the age of the third remains unknown.
The crime scene is currently flooded with detectives and officers, who are gathering evidence and interviewing potential witnesses. Authorities are also analyzing video footage to identify the perpetrators.
Commissioner Tish noted that while overall gun violence has declined, this incident represents a severe disruption. The police presence in the area has been intensified following the attack.
Local leaders have expressed their concern and urged the public to assist the police with any information that could aid in the investigation.
