PANAJI, GOA – Venkat Raman, the estranged husband of AI start up CEO Suchana Seth, arrived at Calangute police station in the afternoon from Bengaluru to record his statement regarding the death of their four-year-old child. Seth stands accused of smothering her son to death, packing his corpse in a bag, and attempting to transport it to Bengaluru before being arrested in Chitradurga, Karnataka.
Raman informed police that the divorce proceedings between him and Seth were already underway in a family court in Bengaluru, with the court granting him visitation rights that Seth did not honor. According to Raman, Seth had prevented him from seeing their son for the past five Sundays, despite the court order.
While Raman refrained from speaking to media, a senior police official confirmed that he was providing a detailed statement to the investigating officer. The official stated that a significant part of Raman’s statement had already been recorded and that he would continue after lunch.
The incident occurred in a service apartment in Candolim, where Seth allegedly smothered her son to death before attempting to commit suicide. Raman, being in Jakarta at the time, had no access to his child during the tragic event.
