High Point, N.C. — A 61-year-old man has been charged with murder more than two decades after the death of a woman in High Point. Ricky Dean Cox was taken into custody on February 3, accused of killing Betty Moore, 51, at her home on Coltrane Avenue in October 2002.
The case remained dormant for years until a detective with the High Point Police Department revisited it in 2025. This renewed investigation involved reviewing case files and conducting a fresh interview with Cox in November.
