Community Unites to Honor Young Lives Lost in Tragic Glendale Concert Shooting

GLENDALE, Ariz. — A vigil held outside El Camaron Gigante drew over a hundred attendees Tuesday evening, honoring 21-year-old Milo Suniga, one of three victims fatally shot during a mass shooting at a concert near the restaurant on Sunday night. As friends and family gathered around a memorial, members of the Lowrider community expressed their grief and shared memories of Suniga, remembered for his loyalty and willingness to help others.

Friends recalled Suniga as a brotherly figure who often put others’ needs before his own. Robert Mandell, a close friend, reflected on their plans for a joyful evening at the concert, describing it as a family event filled with laughter and happiness. “I’m just glad at least our last moments together we were having a lot of fun,” Mandell said, struggling to comprehend the tragedy that quickly followed their shared enjoyment.

Investigators report that the shooting erupted after an argument escalated between attendees. Eyewitness video captured the moments leading up to the chaos, showing the confrontation before multiple gunshots rang out. Mandell disclosed that Suniga tried to intervene in the conflict, ultimately saving someone else’s life before he became a victim himself. “There’s a lot of things running through my mind. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it,” Mandell said, reflecting on the heartbreaking reality that now overshadows their final moments together.

The shooting also claimed the lives of two brothers, 21-year-old Christopher Sproule and 17-year-old Damien Sproule. As the community grieves, there have been no arrests made in connection with the incident, leaving many to wonder who may have been responsible for this senseless act of violence.

In response to the ongoing investigation, the Glendale Police Department has established a portal for witnesses to submit photos and videos anonymously. Authorities are encouraging anyone who attended the concert on May 4 to share any recordings or images they may have, whether they document the festivities or the disturbing events that unfolded.

The police emphasized the importance of community involvement in their efforts to maintain safety and seek justice for the victims. “Your help is crucial in keeping our community safe,” the department stated as they seek to piece together a clearer picture of the night’s tragic events.

As memorials continue to sprout in remembrance of Suniga and the Sproule brothers, the community remains united in their grief and determination to prevent further violence. The vigil served not only as a tribute to the lives lost but also as a rallying point for solidarity and healing in a community shaken by tragedy.
