DENVER, Colorado — Steven Young, 48, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2020 killing of 32-year-old Charly Lewis in Denver. This conviction comes after Young was found guilty in August of first-degree murder for Lewis’ death.
Lewis’ body was discovered in an alley behind 1065 Federal Blvd. on June 7, 2020, after being shot to death. It is believed that Young murdered Lewis because she had witnessed him commit a murder just six days earlier in Aurora. Young was also convicted of killing John Cyprian in April 2021.
Following the discovery of Lewis’ body, Young was arrested the following day. On Friday, he received the mandatory life sentence under Colorado law for this crime, adding to the life sentence he was already serving for the murder of Cyprian.
