Devastating: Family Mourns Loss of Zimbabwe-Born Man in Violent Leicester Attack

Leicester, United Kingdom – A tragic incident in Leicester has left the loved ones of a man, Craig Maposa, devastated and their lives forever changed. Viciously attacked on Dryden Street after a night out, Maposa succumbed to head injuries in the hospital a few days later. The perpetrators, Blessing and Brendon Mukunguruste, were sentenced to four and a half years in prison after admitting to manslaughter.

According to Leicestershire Police, the altercation between Mr. Maposa and the brothers began after leaving a nightclub. The situation escalated on Gower Street where the defendants viciously attacked Maposa, leaving him unconscious and abandoned on the pavement before fleeing. Luckily, a compassionate bystander provided assistance and directed Maposa towards safety but unfortunately, he was found unresponsive at his home in Eyres Monsell the next day.

Tragically, the extent of Maposa’s injuries was revealed at the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a severe brain bleed that ultimately led to his untimely death. Detectives identified the Mukunguruste brothers as the culprits and made the necessary arrests. The victim’s family, in a heartfelt statement following the sentencing, expressed the profound impact of Craig’s passing on their lives.

Described by his family as a loving and caring individual, Maposa’s untimely death has left a void that can never be filled. He immigrated to the UK from Zimbabwe at a young age and grew up to be a responsible and compassionate man, with dreams for the future that were tragically cut short.
