Devastating Russian Strikes Across Ukraine: Civilians Killed and Widespread Damage Reported in Multiple Regions

Kharkiv, Ukraine — A wave of attacks by Russian forces across multiple regions of Ukraine on November 28 has resulted in civilian casualties and extensive damage to both residential and critical infrastructure. Local authorities have been closely monitoring the situation as the scale of the assaults becomes clearer.

In the Kharkiv region, airstrikes targeted several settlements, leading to the deaths of two civilians. Oleg Synegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that attacks in villages such as Shestakove and Karaichne were particularly deadly, with one man, age 33, and another, age 49, confirmed killed. Additionally, two individuals sustained injuries, including a 52-year-old woman and a 61-year-old woman.

The attacks involved a variety of munitions, including guided bombs and drones, wreaking havoc on residential and administrative structures in urban areas. Significant damage was reported to multiple apartment buildings in Kharkiv, as well as numerous homes in neighboring settlements like Kivsharivka and Shestakove.

In the Sumy region, approximately 40 separate shellings impacted 18 settlements, causing serious injuries to a 60-year-old energy worker. Oleg Hryhorov, head of the regional military administration, noted damage to civil infrastructure in towns such as Sumy and Krolevets. Emergency services evacuated 19 residents from the stricken areas amidst the chaos.

The situation in Kherson also worsened, as Russian attacks there left two civilians dead and eight injured. Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the regional military administration, reported that multiple residential and commercial properties suffered structural damage across communities, including Kherson city and neighboring areas like Antonivka.

Donetsk experienced similar violence, with four civilians injured from the ongoing hostilities. Vadym Filashkin, head of the regional military administration, stated that since the onset of the full-scale invasion, 3,742 residents have been killed, and 8,496 have been injured, excluding additional casualties from the besieged areas of Volnovakha and Mariupol.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, an 83-year-old woman suffered injuries from a drone strike in the Pavlohrad district. Damage extended to various homes, a gas pipeline, and a power line, underscoring the pervasive danger facing the local population. Vladyslav Haivanenko, the acting head of the regional administration, reported further shelling in the Nikopol district, where the Myrivska community also felt the impact.

Kyiv region faced power outages as a result of Russian strikes, particularly affecting areas like Fastiv. Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the regional administration, reported that six apartment buildings in Brovary district were damaged, along with homes in Obukhiv, Vyshhorod, and Bucha districts. Local authorities organized the evacuation of 52 residents, including three children, from affected buildings. Emergency services set up a “point of resilience” to provide heating and assistance, highlighting the community’s determination to support those impacted.

The ongoing conflict continues to inflict suffering and destruction across Ukraine, raising international concern and drawing attention to the urgent need for humanitarian aid and protection for civilians.
