Diver Discovers Remains in Martin Family Vehicle

CASCADE LOCKS, OR – The mystery surrounding the Martin family, who vanished in 1958, is closer to being solved after divers recovered their remains from the Columbia River. This long-standing mystery has captivated Oregon for over six decades.

Archer Mayo, who has been relentless in his search, discovered the family’s 1954 station wagon earlier this year. Despite initial setbacks in retrieving the vehicle, Mayo’s continued efforts have now brought significant artifacts and remains to light.

Among the discoveries were deteriorated shoes, believed to be Barbara Martin’s, and a wooden suitcase that had collapsed over time. These findings provide crucial clues to the family’s disappearance.

A camera case with Ken Martin’s name and shoes thought to belong to him were also recovered. Additional items, like seatbelt buckles, offer insights into the vehicle’s condition when it plunged into the river.

The remains have been handed over to local authorities, and forensic experts are examining them to uncover the truth behind the family’s final moments. The investigation hopes to solve the mystery that has puzzled many for years.

Mayo plans to fill the car with gravel to prevent it from becoming a hazard to future divers. His dedication has been instrumental in piecing together the story of the Martin family’s tragic end.

As the investigation progresses, there is optimism that the mystery will finally be unraveled, providing closure to the family and the community.
