Liverpool, England – A man in Liverpool, England, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for stalking and assault causing grievous bodily harm. The 35-year-old serial domestic abuser, Alan Hall, brutally stamped on his ex-girlfriend’s feet, breaking her toe and causing severe damage to the bones in her feet after she rejected him.
The victim, who had met Hall on Facebook, ended the relationship after just six weeks. However, Hall refused to accept the breakup, continuing to follow and harass her by turning up at her home and her friend’s address, damaging her phone, and tampering with the locks on her house.
During an encounter at a friend’s house in St Helens, Hall shouted at the victim, expressing his desire to be with her, but she firmly rejected him. The situation escalated when Hall, after an argument, deliberately stamped on both of her feet, causing extreme pain and resulting in her having to wear a protective walker boot.
The victim, who suffered psychological harm and significant distress as a result of this disturbing incident, had to endure the physical and emotional consequences of Hall’s aggressive and violent behavior.
Hall’s defense attorney, Callum Ross, stated that Hall wants to apologize to the victim and has recognized the need for help with anger management. However, Judge Stuart Driver, in sentencing Hall, emphasized the aggravated nature of the case due to Hall’s history of violence against women and ex-partners.
The judge deemed Hall to be dangerous and highlighted his poor compliance with court orders, ultimately sentencing him to 18 months in prison and granting a restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim for seven years.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the serious and damaging effects of domestic abuse and the need for swift and appropriate legal intervention to protect victims and hold perpetrators accountable.
