Florida, USA – A customer is seeking more than $100,000 in a lawsuit against the Dunkin’ Donuts franchise after an unfortunate incident left him covered in excrement and urine.
The incident took place two years ago at a Dunkin’ Donuts location in Winter Park, Florida. According to the lawsuit, the customer, Paul Kerouac, suffered “severe long-term injuries” after an explosion in the franchise’s toilet.
Kerouac claims to have required mental health care and counseling since the incident and has suffered from “bodily injury and psychological damages”. The lawsuit also mentions the employee’s awareness of a recurring problem with the toilet.
This is not the first time Dunkin’ Donuts has faced legal action. Another incident in February 2021 involved a woman who suffered burns after a cup lid allegedly wasn’t fastened completely.
The customer’s attorney, Benjamin Welch of Morgan & Morgan, says his client still struggles with day-to-day life, applying creams and ointments several times a day. Dunkin’ Donuts has been contacted for comment, but has not responded.
As the legal battle unfolds, it remains to be seen how the franchise will respond to this latest lawsuit.
