Family Massacre in Bihar: Relatives on the Run After Gunning Down Three, Including 1-Year-Old Girl

Patna, Bihar – Three members of a family, including a one-year-old girl, were tragically killed in a horrific crime in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district on Tuesday afternoon. The victims, Chandan Kumar (40), his wife Chandni Devi (30), and their daughter Roshni Kumari, were shot dead by their own relatives at Navtolia village under Gopalpur police station around 4:30 pm, according to police reports.

The accused, who are the father and brother of Chandni, are currently on the run after committing the heinous crime, as reported by SP Naugachia, Sushant Kumar Saroj. The motive behind the crime appears to be the family’s disapproval of Chandni’s marriage to Chandan in 2021, resulting in ongoing disputes and quarrels with her father and brother.

On the day of the incident, Chandni’s father, Pappu Singh, violently attacked the couple with an iron rod, causing severe injuries to Chandan. Subsequently, Chandni’s brother, Dhiraj Singh, arrived at the scene with a firearm and shot the couple, as well as the one-year-old Roshni, all of whom died on the spot. Following the triple murder, Chandni’s father and brother fled from the village, leading the police to launch a search operation to apprehend the culprits.

The tragic event has shocked the community, and the police are actively pursuing the fugitives with a team led by a senior officer. The chilling crime has not only claimed the lives of three innocent family members but has also highlighted the urgency of addressing domestic disputes and preventing such devastating acts of violence. The authorities continue to investigate the details of the crime as they seek to bring the perpetrators to justice.
