LaGrange, GA — A feud at a local home on Saturday night ended with a man dead from gunshot wounds and another charged with murder, LaGrange police reported. Dewan Harden Jr. has been charged in the homicide of Zymerious Cofield following an altercation at a residence on Mason Street.
According to authorities, police were dispatched to the 900 block of Mason Street after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Cofield critically injured with multiple gunshot wounds. Immediate medical aid was administered, and Cofield was transported to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center. Despite efforts to save him, Cofield succumbed to his injuries.
The case swiftly moved into the hands of LaGrange’s Criminal Investigations Division. Investigators determined that an altercation between Harden and Cofield led to the fatal shooting. Preliminary evidence gathered at the scene played a pivotal role in piecing together the events of that night.
