Mesquite, Texas — A man sought in connection with a homicide was shot and killed during an encounter with police near a local shopping mall. The confrontation escalated after law enforcement attempted to conduct a high-risk traffic stop on the individual.
According to police reports, officers from the Dallas Police Department were monitoring the suspect when he entered a vehicle in the 2600 block of Franklin Drive. Soon after, law enforcement initiated a stop on the east service road of Interstate 635, adjacent to Town East Mall.
