Hartford, Connecticut – Two people were fatally shot and another was injured during a late-night party in Hartford, Connecticut, police reported.
According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert, spokesperson for the Hartford Police Department, officers responded to a Shotspotter activation at 641 Garden St. around 5 a.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, they discovered two victims who had been pronounced dead at the scene. A third victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooting is believed to have stemmed from a fight that broke out in the basement of a private residence, leading to gunfire. Lt. Boisvert stated that it is suspected there were two different shooters involved.
One of the shooters fatally shot one victim, while the second shooter is believed to have fatally shot the initial shooter. The second shooter remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation by law enforcement.
At the present time, officers are in the process of obtaining a search warrant to gather and examine any potential evidence at the property. Lt. Boisvert mentioned that it is currently unclear whether there is any camera evidence that may aid in the investigation.
