Murshidabad, India – A tragic event occurred on April 12 in the Jafarganj area of Murshidabad district, West Bengal, where Hargovind Das and his son Chandan Das lost their lives at the hands of a violent mob. The unrest in the locality was triggered by disputes over the Waqf law, leading to protests which escalated into deadly violence.
According to local police reports, an aggressive crowd gathered and advanced toward the residence of the Das family amid the protests. Eyewitnesses describe a scene of horror as the father and son were forcibly removed from their home and viciously attacked with sharp weapons.
Visual evidence from the site reveals the severity of the attack, showing a grievous scene where Chandan Das was found severely wounded, laying on the roadside drenched in blood. Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident, with Jiaul Sheikh identified as the main conspirator.
