Salina, Kansas — A recent home invasion has led to the arrest of five individuals on multiple serious charges following an alarming incident that unfolded in the late afternoon of August 8. According to local law enforcement, the suspects are accused of entering a residence while armed, resulting in injuries to the homeowner.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a report from a resident who claimed that several armed individuals had forced their way into the home. Upon entering, one of the suspects allegedly struck the homeowner, causing a significant injury above the eye. The assailants reportedly fled the scene in a gray SUV, leaving authorities uncertain as to whether anything was stolen from the residence.
An officer patrolling the area later spotted the described SUV and executed a traffic stop. The vehicle complied, and upon further investigation, the occupants were identified as the suspects linked to the home invasion. All five were taken into custody without incident and subsequently booked at the Saline County Jail.
The suspects face a range of serious allegations. Kayla Sitton, age 33, along with Scott Gardner, 32, are both charged with aggravated battery, aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated assault. Antwon Pierce, 45, faces similar charges, with an added count of interfering with law enforcement during his arrest.
Darryl Jones, 52, and Ernest Reed, 35, round out the group with identical charges, reflecting the severity of their alleged crimes. As the investigation continues, authorities will look into potential motives behind the invasion and whether additional charges may be warranted.
