MARIETTA, GA – A former Milton police officer is facing serious charges after a tragic incident on I-75 last week. Christopher Bradshaw, 48, was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide and felony hit-and-run after allegedly leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
Bradshaw, a veteran of 17 years in law enforcement, was involved in a collision involving two tractor-trailers. The drivers had exited their vehicles to assess the damage when a Chevy Silverado struck and killed 36-year-old Terrell Loudermilk of Chattanooga.
Following the incident, Marietta police launched an investigation to locate the driver of the Silverado. They gathered evidence from the scene, interviewed witnesses, and reviewed footage from Department of Transportation cameras along the interstate. The public was also urged to provide any information that could assist in the case.
Within 48 hours, authorities identified Bradshaw as the driver. He had been with the Milton Police Department for 14 years, reaching the rank of lieutenant before his dismissal. The department confirmed that Bradshaw was off-duty at the time of the accident.
Upon learning of the investigation, Milton Police placed Bradshaw on administrative leave, later terminating his employment. Before his tenure in Milton, Bradshaw had served with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office for three years.
The incident has left the community in shock, as Bradshaw was a respected member of the police force. The department expressed its condolences to the victim’s family and reiterated its commitment to justice and accountability.
As the legal process unfolds, Bradshaw remains in custody at Cobb County Jail. The case has raised questions about the responsibility and conduct of law enforcement officers when off duty.
The Marietta community continues to grapple with the loss, and authorities remain focused on ensuring a thorough investigation. The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the impact of reckless driving and the importance of accountability.
