Freeway Fatality: Motorcyclist Suspected of Shooting Driver on Eastbound 10 Freeway

COVINA, CALIFORNIA – A tragic incident unfolded on the eastbound 10 Freeway in Covina early Saturday morning, as a motorcycle driver is suspected of fatally shooting another driver. California Highway Patrol officers swiftly responded to the scene near the Via Verde exit around 2:16 a.m., discovering a person shot inside a white Chevy Camaro on the freeway’s right shoulder.

According to CHP Officer Sean Lough, a 19-year-old passenger in the car escaped unharmed during the shooting. The victim, unfortunately, succumbed to the injuries despite efforts by officers to revive them upon arrival within seven minutes. The Los Angeles County Fire Department later declared the victim, identified as Alexander Espino, deceased at the scene.

Authorities provided a vague description of the shooter as a man in all black clothing and a black helmet riding a black motorcycle. Footage from the scene revealed a bullet hole in the Camaro’s windshield, further indicating the severity of the incident.
