Friend Stabs Man to Death, Say Police

SOUTHFIELD, MI – A confrontation at a Southfield gas station ended in tragedy, with a man losing his life and another facing serious charges. On April 12, 2025, Gregory Anthony Clark, 66, is alleged to have fatally stabbed his friend, Eddie Clora, at a gas station located at 8 Mile and Lahser.

Clora was rushed to a local hospital but unfortunately did not survive his injuries. Prosecutors have charged Clark with manslaughter, supported by video evidence that helped identify him as the assailant. Clora’s family confirmed the suspect’s identity and expressed their shock over the incident.

Southfield Police Chief Elvin Barren lamented the tragic turn of events, noting the decades-long friendship between the two men. “They were friends for decades,” Barren stated, emphasizing the senselessness of the altercation.

Video evidence, withheld from public release to respect the family’s privacy, allegedly shows Clark attacking Clora with a glass bottle. In response, Clora attempted to defend himself and disarm Clark, leading to a violent struggle captured by a witness.

During an April 22, 2025, press conference, police shared screenshots from the video. A bystander attempted to defuse the situation, but the altercation escalated, resulting in Clark reportedly stabbing Clora in the heart. Clark was subsequently arrested and pled guilty during his arraignment, with a potential sentence of up to 15 years in prison.

Clora’s sister, speaking at the press conference, questioned how a friend could commit such an act. She thanked the bystander who tried to intervene and shared heartfelt memories of her brother, who was a devoted family man.

The press conference provided Clora’s family a platform to honor his memory and advocate for justice. The community stands united in support, mourning the loss of a cherished individual and hoping for an end to violence.
