Gunman on the Loose After Deadly Shooting in Hunting Park; Police Seek Public’s Help

PHILADELPHIA — A violent incident in Hunting Park left a Florida man dead Sunday night, prompting a search for the shooter. Police received reports of gunfire around 7:45 p.m. and responded to the intersection of Front and Courtland streets.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 35-year-old Stefan Pierce from Orlando fatally wounded inside a white SUV. He had sustained a single gunshot wound to the head and succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.

Eyewitness accounts reveal that the shooting followed an apparent dispute over right-of-way. A witness reported seeing a man exit a dark Toyota, who then opened fire multiple times at Pierce’s vehicle. After the assault, the suspect returned to the Toyota before fleeing the scene northward along Front Street towards Roosevelt Boulevard.

Officers noted that the victim’s vehicle remained in gear, suggesting the chaos that had unfolded during the shooting. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
