Carndonagh, Ireland — A tragic road accident on Wednesday evening has claimed the lives of a mother and her young daughter in Co. Donegal, leaving the local community in shock. Natalie McLaughlin, in her 20s, and her six-year-old daughter, Ella, were involved in the collision between a car and a van on the R240 at Glentogher, Carndonagh.
Ella was pronounced dead at the scene. Natalie, originally treated for her injuries at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry, was later transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, where she succumbed to her injuries the following day. Natalie’s partner, Tyrone Irwin, remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition. Their two-year-old daughter, Rhea Rose, is also receiving treatment for injuries that are not life-threatening.
