SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Authorities have arrested and identified a 27-year-old homeless woman as the suspect in the fatal shooting of a 46-year-old man on a street in Santa Monica.
The suspect, Kayla Denise Mackey, was taken into custody in West Los Angeles on Friday morning, according to police. The victim, Edward Williams III, was shot in his vehicle on the 2600 block of 29th Street at around 10:30 a.m. Witnesses reported seeing Williams bleeding before he was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
