Homicide Investigation: Joliet Police Seek Suspect in Shooting Death of 25-Year-Old

Joliet, Illinois – Authorities are investigating the homicide of a 25-year-old man found dead in a parking lot after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, around 11:47 p.m. when Joliet Police Officers responded to reports of shots being fired in the 2300 block of White Birch Lane near Glenwood Avenue and Republic Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim unresponsive and wounded. Despite efforts to aid the victim, he was pronounced deceased after being transported to Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center.

Detectives and Evidence Technicians conducted a thorough investigation of the area, uncovering more than 20 spent shell casings near the victim and damage to three unoccupied vehicles and a nearby apartment window. The victim’s identity and cause of death will be determined by the Will County Coroner’s Office.
