Homicide Investigation Underway After Fatal Shooting in Pueblo

Pueblo, Colorado – A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning in the 900 block of West 11th Street, resulting in the death of a man. The Pueblo Police Department is currently investigating the man’s untimely demise as a homicide, as stated in a news release issued on Sunday.

Authorities were alerted to the situation at approximately 2:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a male victim who had been shot. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed by the county coroner’s office, was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting.

According to the release, law enforcement officials conducted interviews with various individuals in connection with the case. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The county coroner’s office will release the victim’s identity following notification of his next of kin. Additionally, the coroner will be responsible for determining the official cause and manner of the man’s passing.

Tragically, this recent incident marks the ninth homicide in Pueblo in 2024. In the previous year of 2023, the city saw a total of 27 homicides, with only three occurring before March 3.
