A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under Kabiru Tanimu, characterized the incident as a harrowing reminder of the escalating security challenges facing Nigeria. Additionally, the Northern States Governors’ Forum described the attacks as “barbaric,” calling for urgent action to address the troubling surge in violence across multiple states.
In response to these events, President Bola Tinubu directed the deployment of an army battalion to reinforce security in Kwara. Kwara Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq visited the affected areas, meeting with both residents and local leaders. The Governor indicated that the attackers specifically targeted residents who opposed their extremist ideologies.
