Houston Police Investigating Fatal Shooting Amid Suspected Robbery Incident

HOUSTON – A man was shot to death early Saturday morning in what Houston police believe may have been an attempted robbery. The incident took place in the 5600 block of Maxwell around 1 a.m. According to reports, a woman and her friend had returned to their apartment complex after dining out. As the friend was exiting the woman’s pickup truck to go to his apartment, two individuals allegedly approached with guns and pulled the woman out of the vehicle at gunpoint.

The woman’s friend, who heard the commotion from his apartment, came out with a pistol and an exchange of gunfire occurred between the friend and the alleged robbers. As a result, the man believed to be the robber was killed, while the other person fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing and Houston police are continuing to gather more information about the incident.

The woman and her friend were involved in the shooting incident, but it is not clear if they sustained any injuries. The police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. At this time, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
