HOUSTON – A man is sought by law enforcement after allegedly shooting and killing another man with an AR-15 on Monday night in northwest Houston. The incident occurred shortly after 10:15 p.m. at an apartment complex along Seminar Drive in the Greenspoint area.
Upon arrival, officers from the Houston Police Department found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to his arm and back. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to police officials.
Authorities were able to establish a perimeter around the area after two individuals remained behind at the scene and provided details about the shooter. Although the gunman managed to escape into a nearby apartment, investigators accessed the unit only to discover that he had abandoned the AR-15 used in the attack.
As of now, the suspect remains at large, having fled in a vehicle. Police are actively searching for him and are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.
Local residents expressed shock at the violence in their community, noting that incidents like this are rare in the area. “It’s alarming to see something like this happen close to home,” a neighbor shared. Community leaders are calling for increased police presence and are encouraging residents to stay vigilant.
The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are working to piece together the events leading up to the shooting. They are examining surveillance footage from the complex and surrounding businesses for any clues that might help identify the suspect.
Authorities continue to seek the public’s assistance in locating the gunman. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
