I-95 Shooting: Norfolk District Attorney Seeking Dashcam Footage

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Massachusetts – The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office is calling on the public to provide dashcam or any other footage from drivers that may have captured the fatal shooting of a 37-year-old man as he drove down Interstate 95 on Saturday night.

Justin R. Parker, of North Attleboro, was identified as the victim of the shooting. The incident occurred as Parker was driving his black Mercedes on the southbound side of I-95 in Foxborough at around 10 p.m. on Feb. 3. A dark-colored or black sedan, which had merged onto I-95 south around 9:20 p.m., is believed to be involved in the shooting.

The driver of the unidentified sedan fired multiple rounds into Parker’s Mercedes, causing Parker to swerve into a family’s Lexus SUV on the highway. The SUV veered off the road and into the woods; the family sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Parker’s car then swerved and came to a stop in the southbound lane, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. The District Attorney’s Office is asking truck drivers, rideshare drivers, or anyone with dashcam footage from the area during the time frame of the shooting to come forward.

“We have developed certain information that may help us to identify distinctive features on the car driven by the shooter,” said District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey. The suspected shooter is believed to have been driving along the I-95 southbound corridor after 9 p.m. from Waltham to the Rhode Island line, or along Interstate 93 from Boston or Weymouth through Milton and Canton.

“We are not asking people to go back through their video footage themselves and make determinations of any kind – we are asking them to call so that we can arrange to have police view the footage,” District Attorney Morrissey emphasized. “Given where we are in the investigation, this could lead to identifying the shooter who killed Justin R. Parker.”
