Jewelry heist foiled by quick-thinking California owner

ANAHEIM, CA – In a dramatic turn of events, a jewelry store owner in Anaheim successfully thwarted an attempted robbery by a large group of suspects in broad daylight.

The attempted heist unfolded as more than 20 individuals, dressed in dark attire, exited multiple vehicles and converged on the store with sledgehammers in hand. However, their plan quickly unraveled when the store owner fired a warning shot, sending the group scrambling.

Describing the moment as self-defense, the owner, who has opted not to reveal his identity, said, “One shot was all it took to send them running.”

This incident follows a similar robbery nearby, where thieves drove a vehicle into another jewelry store, stealing millions in merchandise. Despite some arrests, key suspects remain at large.

Local business owner Mohamed Salem, whose food stall is located next to the jewelry store, expressed his concern. “It was like watching a movie unfold,” he said, highlighting the community’s growing unease.

Law enforcement has not yet released detailed information on the suspects, but the organized nature of the attempt has heightened alertness in the area.

In response, the jewelry store owner has implemented additional security measures and urged fellow business owners to be cautious and report suspicious activities. The recent incidents have underscored the need for heightened vigilance.
