Kansas City Radio DJ Lisa Lopez Galvan Mourned After Tragic Shooting at Chiefs Parade

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves has reported an increase in the number of victims of the mass shooting during the victory rally for the Kansas City Chiefs at Union Station. The total number of victims has now risen to 22, including one person who tragically died in the shooting. The victim has been identified as Lisa Lopez Galvan, a 43-year-old mother of two who was a DJ for the Kansas City radio station KKFI. She was well-known as the co-host of the show Taste of Tejano and has been a DJ for over 15 years, bringing Latino music to the community.

In addition to being a DJ, Galvan was also a graduate of Bishop Miege High School and an active member of Saint Agnes Catholic Church in Roeland Park. Her death has deeply impacted both her family and the Kansas City community, with an outpouring of support and messages of mourning filling up her Facebook page. The tragic incident has also resulted in multiple relatives of Galvan being injured during the shooting, leaving the community shaken and in mourning.

Regarding the other victims, the Kansas City Fire Department has revealed that eight individuals suffered immediate life-threatening injuries, seven had life-threatening injuries, and six had non-life-threatening injuries. The victims were transported to three different hospitals for treatment, including Children’s Mercy Hospital, Truman Medical Center, and St. Luke’s Hospital. Children’s Mercy Hospital has confirmed that they are treating 11 children, including nine with gunshot wounds, all of whom are expected to recover, with the age range of victims being between 6-15 years old.
