Pathanamthitta, India — In a tragic incident late Sunday evening, a 32-year-old man from the village of Kalanjoor in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district was arrested for the fatal stabbing of his wife and her friend, under the suspicion of an affair. According to authorities, the altercation escalated after Baiju accused his wife, 27-year-old Vaishnavi, of having an extramarital relationship with 30-year-old Vishnu. A heated argument ensued which reportedly drove Vaishnavi to seek refuge at Vishnu’s residence nearby.
Driven by rage, Baiju allegedly pursued her to the home where he attacked her with a sharp weapon, resulting in her immediate death. He then turned his aggression toward Vishnu, inflicting critical injuries. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Vishnu succumbed to his injuries.
The police swiftly took Baiju into custody following the attacks, and he is currently being held for further questioning. The local community has been left shocked by the brutality of the crimes, which have stirred discussions about domestic violence and mental health support in rural areas.
