Las Vegas Police Link Two Murders to Single Suspect

LAS VEGAS, NV – A chilling connection has been made between two murders in Las Vegas, linking them to the same suspect, Deandre Owens. Both incidents involved the same firearm, according to police, and the desert murder, dating back over a year, has now been solved.

The crime scene near Frenchman Mountain, notorious for illicit dumping, served as the backdrop for Edward Kukish’s murder. Owens allegedly enticed Kukish to this secluded area under the guise of a job offer, only for Kukish to be found dead months later with gunshot wounds.

A 9mm cartridge found at the scene matched one from another murder on the Strip. Owens was already in custody for the murder of Brittany Bailey, which occurred nine days after Kukish’s death. He now faces additional charges for Kukish’s murder.

This area, plagued by illegal activity and lacking surveillance, has become a concern for locals. The recent discovery of dead animals has intensified calls for increased police presence and security measures.

Despite reaching out to authorities, including the Bureau of Land Management and Metro Police, no plans for heightened monitoring have been confirmed. Meanwhile, the community remains vigilant, hoping for steps to deter crime.

The case underscores the vulnerability of remote areas to criminal acts and the urgent need for improved security. As investigations proceed, the focus remains on ensuring justice and enhancing public safety.
