Man Critically Injured in Violent Assault Over Old Dispute in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, India – A local man, identified as 22-year-old Vijay Ashok Magare, was savagely attacked and stabbed late Tuesday evening in what appears to be a resurgence of a longstanding feud, according to police. The assault, which took place around 10 p.m., left Magare critically wounded, with severe injuries leading to unconsciousness and significant blood loss.

Authorities reported that a group of five or six people participated in the brutal attack, which occurred in the Dikshabhumi Nagar area of Harsul. Investigators have named Amol Bhujange, Akash Bhujange, Saurabh Bhujange, Ramu Bhujange, and Sunita Bhujange as suspects in this violent incident. All five have since been apprehended.

The altercation reportedly flared up anew when Magare encountered the suspects near his neighborhood. His brother, Shubham, tried to defuse the situation and thought the matter resolved as he left the scene. However, the conflict escalated shortly thereafter, leading to the brutal onslaught against Magare.

Eye witnesses described a harrowing scene where Magare was surrounded, beaten, and finally stabbed. One of the attackers, identified as Amol Bhujange, allegedly drew a knife during the assault and stabbed Magare in the abdomen. Following the attack, alarmed residents promptly transported the gravely injured Magare to a private hospital where he was admitted to the ICU.

Police Sub-Inspector Rahul Nirwal of Harsul Police Station stated that a full investigation is underway following a detailed complaint about the incident. The suspects are currently being held as inquiries continue.

The background to the dispute remains under review, although unconfirmed reports suggest that tensions between Magare and the accused have been brewing for some time. Community safety concerns have risen in the wake of this attack, prompting calls for increased patrols and more robust conflict resolution mechanisms in the area.

Local community leaders have expressed their shock and condemnation over the incident, urging all parties involved to seek peaceful resolutions to disagreements. The hospital has not yet released an update on Magare’s condition, but friends and family remain hopeful, albeit deeply shaken by the severity of the attack.

This event has highlighted ongoing issues of personal and communal safety in Dikshabhumi Nagar, triggering discussions among local authorities about preventive measures and the potential need for mediating conflict in the community more effectively. As the legal process unfolds, the community watches and waits, hoping for both justice for Magare and a path forward toward reconciliation and peace in their neighborhood.
