EVANS, Colo. — The Colorado Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday issued an endangered missing alert for 20-year-old Kaylee Russell, who was last seen around 6 p.m. Nov. 30 near the Loveland/Johnstown Park-N-Ride east of Loveland, authorities said.
Investigators say Russell left the area in a black 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan with a Colorado temporary plate 7880903 and a GreeleyNissan.com sticker on the rear window. CBI said law enforcement is concerned for her safety and is working with local agencies in Northern Colorado. The alert keeps the case in public view as officers trace Russell’s movements on the Front Range following her last check-in with family. As of Thursday, no arrests had been announced and the alert remained active.
Family members told investigators Russell had a flat tire before beginning a package-delivery run Nov. 30. Her father helped change the tire and rode along for part of the shift, then Russell dropped him at the Loveland/Johnstown Park-N-Ride, the family said. Their last communication was at about 6:10 p.m., according to relatives. “Law enforcement is concerned for her safety,” the statewide alert said. Russell, of Evans, is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall and about 125 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie, tan pants and brown slippers.
The Park-N-Ride sits near the interchange of Interstate 25 and Colorado 402, a high-traffic corridor linking Loveland and Johnstown to the rest of the Front Range. Investigators are reviewing Russell’s recent travel for her delivery work and any electronic records that could narrow the timeline after 6 p.m. Sunday. Officials have not said who, if anyone, saw Russell after she left the lot or whether traffic cameras captured the Volkswagen. Russell’s mother told reporters her daughter was expected to meet family later that evening but never arrived, and the family said her phone has been off since that night.
CBI’s endangered missing alert is used when investigators believe a person’s disappearance presents a credible safety concern but does not meet Amber Alert criteria. The alert allows agencies to quickly share a photo, vehicle description and last known location statewide. In Russell’s case, the notice includes the Tiguan’s temporary plate and the rear-window dealership sticker. Evans police are the local lead, with assistance from agencies along the I-25 corridor. Officials have not publicly identified any suspects or stated whether foul play is suspected, saying only that the case remains open and active.
Next steps include canvassing the Park-N-Ride area, pulling camera footage from businesses near the interchange, and checking license-plate readers along I-25 and U.S. 34. Investigators are also expected to review delivery route data to confirm Russell’s stops and timing. No court filings or warrants tied to the disappearance were listed as of Thursday, and authorities had not scheduled a public briefing. Any updates from Evans police or CBI are expected to come as new leads are verified or additional images are obtained.
On Wednesday evening, travelers moved in and out of the lot at Highway 402 as snow flurries brushed the foothills. A few drivers paused to scan the posted alert image showing Russell’s photo and the Tiguan details. “We’re all hoping she’s found safe,” said a commuter who uses the lot daily and gave only his first name, Mark. Nearby businesses reported officers asking about security video from Nov. 30. Residents in Evans and Loveland shared Russell’s photo across neighborhood groups as the search widened into neighboring counties.
As of Thursday afternoon, Russell had not been found. The endangered missing alert remained in effect, and investigators continued to review tips, vehicle sightings and electronic records tied to Nov. 30. The next update is expected when agencies complete initial video pulls from the I-25/Colorado 402 area.
