Mother and Daughter Found Fatally Stabbed in Park Slope

Police identified the women as Olga Bracero and Kayla Wilson.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Two women were found stabbed to death Saturday night inside a Park Slope apartment building, police said, in a case that left neighbors shaken on a quiet residential block.

Police identified the women as 58-year-old Olga Bracero and 23-year-old Kayla Wilson. Officers responded around 8 p.m. to a 911 call for an assaulted woman inside 386 Second St., where both women were found with stab wounds. Emergency medical workers pronounced them dead at the scene.

Neighbors told CBS News New York that the women were mother and daughter. Police had not announced charges as of Monday, and investigators continued to examine what happened inside the brownstone before officers arrived. Law enforcement sources told local outlets the deaths were being investigated as a possible murder-suicide, but police had not released a final public finding.

The address drew added attention because another murder-suicide was reported in the same building in 2024. In that case, two residents were found dead from gunshot wounds. Longtime residents said the latest deaths renewed fear and grief on a block better known for brownstones, families and steady foot traffic than violent crime.

Bracero was remembered by neighbors as kind and close to people in the building. Several residents said they had seen police and emergency vehicles outside the home Saturday night as investigators worked inside. Officials have not released a full timeline of the women’s final hours, and the medical examiner’s office is expected to determine the official causes and manners of death.

The investigation remained open Monday. Police said no broader threat to the public had been announced, and the next major step is the completion of autopsy findings and any further NYPD update on the case.
