Mother Hospitalized After Alleged Hammer Assault by Son

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A shocking incident has left a 61-year-old woman fighting for her life after her son allegedly attacked her with a hammer. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office acted quickly after receiving an emergency call about the situation.

The suspect’s friend, alarmed by messages received through a gaming app, reported that the suspect admitted to the assault. The friend urged him to contact the authorities, and after a delay, the suspect complied, allowing deputies to reach the scene promptly.

The victim was discovered in the backyard, critically injured and unresponsive. She was immediately airlifted to a hospital, where she remains in serious condition. Investigators suspect a domestic dispute escalated into the violent incident.

The suspect is accused of attempting to cover up his actions, but the friend’s decision to alert law enforcement may have been crucial in preventing further harm. The district attorney’s office is now handling the case, with the suspect facing charges of aggravated assault.

The investigation continues as detectives review the preserved messages and other evidence. The mother and son lived alone, and no other individuals were present at the time of the attack. The community is reeling from the violence as they await updates on the victim’s condition.
