PEORIA, AZ – A suspected drunk driving incident has left a Valley couple with severe injuries and a long road to recovery. Arielle Lopez and Brian Salinas were involved in a head-on crash that has drastically altered their lives.
The collision, which took place near 107th Avenue in Northern, resulted in significant injuries for Salinas, including broken bones and a punctured lung. Lopez is currently in a medically induced coma, her condition critical as she fights to survive.
Lopez, who works as a certified nursing assistant, was pursuing further studies to become a registered nurse while caring for her three-year-old daughter. The accident, happening on Mother’s Day, adds to the emotional toll on her family. Salinas is thankful that Lopez’s daughter was not present in the vehicle during the crash.
The driver involved in the crash was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. However, formal charges are pending laboratory results. The driver’s canceled license exacerbates the gravity of the situation, and Salinas advocates for justice and accountability.
