WEST BELFAST, Northern Ireland – Authorities have launched a murder investigation following the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Kevin Conway in his home in the Greenan area of West Belfast. The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 pm on Tuesday, prompting police to appeal for information from the public in relation to what they have described as a ‘horrific, calculated, and ruthless murder’.
Detective Inspector Gina Quinn stated that Kevin, a father, son, and brother, was brutally murdered in his own home, being shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene. The community is in shock and Kevin’s family and loved ones are left to come to terms with their loss.
The Sinn Féin MP for West Belfast, Paul Maskey, condemned the “brutal killing” and urged anyone with information to come forward. He emphasized that there is no place for guns on the streets and advised people to avoid the area where cordons are still in place.
Authorities have appealed to anyone in the Greenan area from 4pm on Tuesday, asking for those who noticed anything suspicious or have CCTV or dashcam footage to contact the police. This appeal for information includes asking potential witnesses to reach out and bring forward any relevant information to assist in the ongoing murder investigation.
