Officers responded Saturday evening near the Northwest Neighborhood Center.
ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police investigated a reported shooting Saturday evening in the 3900 block of W D Judge Drive, where officers and crime scene tape were seen near a city neighborhood center.
The Orlando Police Department said officers were called to the area before 6 p.m. The case remained active Saturday night, and officials had not released information about injuries, arrests, a suspect description or a possible motive.
WESH 2 reported that its crew saw police activity and yellow tape at the scene. The 3900 block includes the Northwest Neighborhood Center, a city facility at 3955 W D Judge Drive. Police did not say whether the shooting happened inside the center, outside it or elsewhere nearby.
The area is a mixed stretch of northwest Orlando with public facilities, apartments and neighborhood services. City records list the Northwest Neighborhood Center and Northwest Pool at the same address. The center is used for recreation and community programs.
Investigators had not named any victims or witnesses by Saturday night. Police also had not said whether detectives recovered a weapon or whether nearby homes, businesses or city facilities were placed under any temporary restrictions.
The shooting report comes as Orlando police continue to respond to gun violence across the city. Officials have not connected this investigation to any other recent case. More information is expected after detectives review evidence and release an update.
