Pennsylvania Man Killed in Tragic Plane Crash Remembered by Community

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania – The Pennsylvania State Police announced that John Burley, a 59-year-old man from Windber, Somerset County, was tragically killed in a plane crash on Dec. 29, 2023. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. near Buzzard Swamp Road in Jenks Township, Forest County. His death has been ruled as accidental by the authorities.

Burley was the owner of Everything Ice, a business rooted in Johnstown. In a heartfelt Facebook post on Jan. 1, 2024, the company paid tribute to Burley, referring to him as “our leader, our friend, our owner.” The post also requested privacy for his family during this difficult time. Everything Ice assured its customers that it will continue to operate in honor of Burley’s legacy.
